In response to: Call for Presentations: ALCTS Electronic Resources Interest Group, ALA Midwinter, January 2009

There is some progress in terms of rapid export of the most important usage statistics across'camparative of dbase. SerialsSolutions is working on this kind of functionality and users hope to see this in the Winter of 2008.

To instigate the enhancement process an informal survey process was instigated at the listserv and the results briefly summarized and collated for the ug (usergroup) to confirm and stimiulate future survey use for similar purposes. We received immediate vendor response to our survey which was delivered two ways:

email and hardcopy tally

Survey was limited necessarily to current users and no one else, but per other interested parties the results would have been third party confirmation of the need for enhancement or desire for functionality from users.

Simply states it is a quantification of the general market research principles available to anyone using simple web based free software survey tools like monkeysurvey.com

After using this for graduate coursework in leadership studies I saw that the obvious application is many and all service situations was very well suited to current vendor/user dialogues and would serve as a wiki methodology when combined with the quick sharing of the blogspots such as this one. I would be please to let you know of this basis method, but it is really just 4 steps

survey of needs/issues
collection and assessment
Information communication
Results sharing with both vendor and user group

Results are mostly positive, because you are giving both parties what they need information to be best practice oriented synergystics in product development using maximum opinion permitted by blogging.
